A couple of pictures from your phone and a rough size is usually all it takes. You get a fixed figure back for the work described, not a range and not a day rate.

Everything people ask

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the area, the surface, and how bad it has got. That is why we quote each job rather than publishing a price list that would be wrong for most people. Send a photo and a rough size and you will get a fixed figure back.

Do you need my water or electricity?

No. We bring our own water and our own power. Nothing gets plugged into your house and we do not run off your outside tap.

Will pressure washing damage my block paving?

Not when it is done correctly. The risks are working too close, sitting in one spot, and taking the jointing sand out and not putting it back. We use a rotary flat cleaner at a set distance and re-sand the joints as part of the job.

Can you pressure wash a roof?

We will not, and you should be wary of anyone who says they will. High pressure strips the protective granules off concrete tiles and forces water under the laps. Roofs get scraped by hand and soft washed at low pressure with a biocide treatment.

How long after a roof soft wash will it look clean?

The bulk moss goes on the day. The staining and lichen die back and weather off gradually over the following few months — that is the treatment working, not a job left half done.

How often should gutters be cleared?

Once a year for most houses around here. If you have trees within reach of the roof, or you are right on the seafront, make it twice — autumn and spring.

Do I need to be home?

Not necessarily, as long as we can get to the area and to a tap-free working space. We would rather walk the finished job with you though, so most people stay for the last ten minutes.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain is not a problem — the surface is getting soaked anyway. Heavy rain or high wind and we will move you, because roof and access work stops being safe. You get a call, not a no-show.

What about my plants?

Borders next to the work get soaked down first and covered where needed. Wet foliage takes far less from overspray than dry foliage does.

Do you take the mess away?

Yes. Moss off a roof, silt off a drive and everything out of a gutter goes with us. Leaving it bagged by your bin is not finishing the job.
